NYC Trudeau 12M 26 May

Conditions in the Blake Sea were not the best for our regatta. During the first race Mizzen region went down just as the fleet reached it with all slamming into a wall. We moved on to the second course after observing Mizzen back on line. However there were other issues as the racers had to deal with lag, freezing, losing control momentarily and cameras going bad. In spite of the hardships all three managed to complete the last two courses with Viv walking away with great leads and victories for both.

Crewind with Moon, we crash in the fisrt race close the Crow nest, and lost control in the second race at the gate. But we reach good speed in some leg.

After the total wipeout in race 1, conditions were pretty decent overall, with just a bit of sims stuttering at times.
I guess the others are so used to sailing in stronger winds that they struggled more than me on finding speed.
Both races were settled shortly after start in the beats as I managed to shut off Moon in race 2 (strong windward position) and resisted Mike in race 3 surviving with the smallest gap at mark 1 after he started with much better speed behind me, to my windward. Taking the inside at the mark, I could extend my lead and cruise to the victory without any further stress. I believe Moon helped me unknowingly by slowing down Mike around the mark with his wind shadow. Racing is made up of all these little details
Cheers and thanks for the fun time!
