NYC Trudeau 12M regatta, 17 March

Conditions were good in the Blake Sea for the most part during the Trudeau 12M regatta. The only casualty was Gemma in the second race. Unfortunately she crashed while holding a lead. The wind shifted to SW providing a bit of a challenge for tonight’s courses but everyone adapted well. Congratulations to Viv for her two wins and Sea for her win.

I love these boats. Tactics do play an important role with them, as they don’t accelerate very fast and wind shadow has a big impact.
Racing was lots of fun tonight with exciting come-backs and many tight duels. The wind speed fluctuations were significant and needed be watched closely, as they influence the choice of fore-sail.
Thanks for the fun races. Cheers!
